Theatre Institute (Ages 11 to 18)
July 20 - 31 & August 3 - 14
This year The Glove is changing things up a bit! We are excited to present two FREE 2-week Workshops/Showcases – for students ages 11 – 18!
Double the Theatre! Double the FUN! Participants can sign up for either session – or both sessions – depending on their interests and availability.
Session 1 – July 20 – July 31: "A-5-6-7-8", Classic Broadway
“Get out your tap shoes Frances!” We are going back to Classical Musical Theatre, where we will explore the likes of Rodgers and Hammerstein, Sondheim, Hamlisch and Porter. From Classical to Golden Age singing, acting and dancing at its finest!
Session 2 – August 3 – August 14: "Millennial Musicals"
Modern Broadway Disco, Grunge, and Latin Heat hit the stage as some of the most exciting shows to make it to Broadway! We will be belting some of our favorite music to some of the hottest shows since the 2000’s. You name it, Hairspray, Wicked, Waitress, Rock of Ages, Six and so much more!
The finale for each 2-week session will be a Showcase where participants exhibit their talents and spotlight their hard work and their skills developed gained during each of the two-week programs!
The Glove is happy to welcome Jamie Eacker Jennings back this year as the Lead Teaching Artist of the Theatre Institute! Campers will blossom and thrive alongside their peers – and learn skills that will help them not just in the theater setting – but life skills that will help them wherever they go.
