Ways to Give

Preserving the Glove's historic past while building its brighter future — every gift, at every size, moves that forward.

The Glove Theatre has been Gloversville's gathering place since 1914. Saved from demolition by this community in 1995 and reopened in 1997, we're now in the middle of a full renaissance — free youth theatre, sold-out shows, and a $20 million capital campaign to restore and expand the building for the next century. There's a way to be part of that, whatever fits your life and your budget.

Your Gift at Work

  • 112 years on North Main Street

  • 100+ students served free every year through GloveArts

  • $0 cost to families for youth theatre education

  • 80+ volunteers logging over 3,800 hours in 2025

Choose the Way That Fits You

There's no single "right" way to support The Glove. Here's the full menu — pick one, or mix and match.

One-Time Gift

Make a single donation of any size, online or by mail. Every dollar goes directly to keeping our stage lit, our doors open, and GloveArts free for local kids.

Monthly Giving

Become a sustaining donor. A recurring monthly gift — even a small one — gives us a steady, predictable base to plan our season and our programs around.

Capital Campaign Pledge

We're restoring and expanding The Glove: 500 seats (up from ~250), a new black box theatre, full building-wide accessibility, and the backstage space to host bigger, national touring acts — all without ever closing our doors during construction. Capital campaign gifts can be made as multi-year pledges, and naming opportunities are available throughout the building. Contact Kathleen Perrott or Pam Frascatore.

Tribute & Memorial Gifts

Honor someone who loves The Glove — or whose memory belongs here — with a gift made in their name. We're glad to notify the person or family being honored.

Employer Matching Gifts

Many employers match charitable donations dollar-for-dollar — some even double or triple them. Check with your HR department to see if your gift to The Glove can go further at no extra cost to you.

Legacy & Planned Giving

Include The Glove in your estate plans and help make sure this stage is here for the next 100 years. Bequests, retirement account beneficiary designations, and other planned gifts are one of the most powerful ways to leave a lasting mark on Gloversville.

Gifts of Stock or Appreciated Securities

Donating appreciated stock directly can be more tax-advantageous than giving cash — you may avoid capital gains tax while still receiving a charitable deduction for the full value.

Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) Gifts

If you have a donor-advised fund, you can recommend a grant to The Glove Theatre directly from your fund.

In-Kind Donations

Not every gift is cash. We also welcome donated goods and services — from building materials and professional services to concession supplies and event equipment.

Corporate Sponsorship & Advertising

Put your business in front of thousands of Glove patrons each year. Sponsor a show, a season, or an event, or advertise in our playbill and on-site.

Give Your Time

Not able to give financially right now? The Glove runs on volunteers — from ushering to event support to behind-the-scenes help. It's one of the most valuable gifts you can offer.

What Your Support Makes Possible

Every gift to The Glove Theatre supports:

  • GloveArts, our free youth theatre education program, serving 100+ students a year at no cost to their families

  • Free community movies, open to everyone, no ticket required

  • The restoration and expansion of our 1914 building — new seating, a second stage, and full accessibility for every guest, performer, and staff member

  • Keeping The Glove's doors open, sold-out show after sold-out show, as the anchor of downtown Gloversville's revitalization

With Thanks

The Glove Theatre is proud to be a 2025 Barbara V. Spraker Tourism Partner Award recipient, and grateful for the generous support of funders including the New York State Council on the Arts, the WGP Foundation, Crown Family Philanthropies, Holiday Inn by IHG, and many more.
